Question 1: What is it about running sled dogs that you love so much?

What I love about running sled dogs is the peace and quiet of cabin life back in the bush. They enjoy the getting away from the sirens and everything else like I do. And it’s just the peace and quiet.Question 2: What, who, how and when & why did you first get involved running the Iditarod?

I got involved with running the Iditarod because of old-time members and finishers of the race. Jamie Nelson out of Minnesota, John Ace, Steve Fee, and mostly John Gourley and Jennifer Gourley helping them get their teams together. And the bug got me.

Question 3:  Tell me about just one of your most memorable experiences running the Iditarod.

Most memorable experience running the Iditarod really was the finish. I finished with 12 happy, healthy dogs. And that was the whole goal for me. Not only finish, but to have a bunch of dogs and they be happy.

Question 4: What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is at 83 I won’t go back to Vietnam.
