Question 1: What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved with the Iditarod… I was born into it. My dad ran it 17 times. I was born right in the middle of his career, and so I’ve always been a part of it all my life for as long as I can remember.

Question 2: What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I am here today and involved with the Iditarod because it’s always been a dream of mine watching my dad when I was little race and finished the Iditarod. I’d love to carry on the tradition of being a fourth-generation musher. My great-grandpa, my grandpa and my dad all ran it. I’d love to carry it on.

Question 3:  Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable experiences was the bonfire at Yentna in Junior Iditarod. It’s always fun to see all the kids from Fairbanks, Homer, everywhere throughout the state, even some out of state. It’s fun to talk to them and see them and visit.

Question 4: What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is that time marches on.
