What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved with the Iditarod with my job here at the hotel. The hotel served as the race headquarters since ’87, and we’re just continuing that tradition of being a sponsor and hosting all the headquarter activities. 

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod because we just love the feel of community that the race gives. It supports so many local Alaskan businesses and communities, and it’s just great that everyone gets involved for such a great tradition.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was this year actually. It’s the first year I was able to go to the Restart, and just being out there at the race with my family and being able to watch the guys start off… guys and gals, excuse me, start the race and just get it all kicked off for such a great event was really fun to see with all the people out there, out in Willow, just a great sense of community.

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is you’re only given today and to live every day like it’s your last and with no regrets.
