What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved in Iditarod six years ago when I came up to do volunteer work with Service Adventure, and it was young adults doing volunteer work. And we wanted to get involved with as many volunteer opportunities as possible and the Iditarod was one of them.

What is your Why?..Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?

I’m here today in involved with Iditarod because the first time that I did dog handling six years ago, I just had a lot of fun. And I like adventure, and so whether it be coming somewhere where it’s 45 degrees below zero, or seeing all of the dogs having a great time out here and the mushers having a great time, I just like coming back and seeing people and seeing how they are progressing.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was my first year, when I was doing dog handling, and just being so excited. Ray, the dog handler person, liked to tell us how hard it was going to be, but it was so much fun. And running in Downtown Anchorage through the 4th Avenue and just having a good time with the dogs.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure in life is that there will always be change, and that there will always be adventures that you can take if you want to. And that I want to be able to take as many of those adventures as possible.
