What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I first got involved with Iditarod or heard about it because the dogs were downtown launching from Anchorage and I was in the area, so I went over to see what was going on. That was about 1976.

What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?

I’m here today and involved with Iditarod because it’s just pure excitement; all the dogs, all the people, and doing what seems to be the impossible.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?

The most memorable Iditarod experiences was the year I came up, one of many years I came to Nome, and had been doing a lot of volunteering with my daughter. And we stayed the same place as Jeff King and he had won the race that year.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure in life is something my dad taught me, and that is, the harder I work, the luckier I get.
