What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I am here today and involved with the Iditarod because it is such a unique and amazing opportunity. 

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

Once I saw the position open, I couldn’t help, but to apply for it and thankfully was offered the position.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences is probably from when I was a kid growing up here in Anchorage and it wasn’t even necessarily an Iditarod experience as it was and Iditaread experience. I love that program still exists and that the education program has turned into what it has. So, I would definitely say Iditaread as a kid is what kept me reading and kept me in touch with the Iditarod. But if we’re talking in the actual Iditarod most memorable experiences, I would say it was this year’s ceremonial start. We’re about five minutes before the ceremonial start happened. I was told that I was counting down the mushers. So, that was quite a way to start the position at my first Iditarod experience being employed with the Iditarod.

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is that nothing is guaranteed. No day is promised, so to be sure to live life to the fullest and to love everyone around you.
